In years past, approximately forty percent of those attending The Stringband Rendezvous volunteer their time and therefore are not asked to support the weekend with a cash donation. The mind set behind this policy is two-fold. In addition to providing everyone an opportunity to take part by sharing the work load required to put on this gathering, we want to acknowledge the value of each volunteer’s time, and that of our talented performers. In order to maintain this provision, it is important that everyone, especially the bands, recruit their fans, friends and family to come out and support the Rendezvous financially, with cash contributions. For those who want to help simply by preregistering on-line and use PayPal, there is a $5 discount for a weekend pass.

Showcase your band

A small stage area will be set up near the dinning shelter for the bands to perform. The goal is to present a variety of acoustic music genres and everyone is welcome to apply. Volunteering to perform on our stage will be considered each performing band member’s donation for the weekend. Because of a limited number of slots we are not able to accommodate solo acts. And starting in 2010, preference will be given to those bands that make a commitment to camp overnight and purchase additional wristbands for their entourage. We recognize that every band has auxiliary members that accompany them to their gigs. It is our policy that these groupies, friends & family are not exempt from the expectation of making a cash donation.

Volunteers donate time instead of cash

We always need help setting up on Friday afternoon and/or striking on Sunday morning, Three hour time commitments working the gate can be exchanged for wristbands. Donations of your time and/or resources are critical to the ongoing success of The Stringband Rendezvous. Contact Garry to sign up.

Anyone not pre-registered prior to May 14th, 2012, will need to complete a registration form at the gate.

Everyone is expected to contribute something towards the weekend. If you are not playing on stage or have arranged to volunteer, your cash donation will be collected at the gate, upon your arrival. Minimum cash donation is $10 per day, per person. Each daily pass is good until midnight. If you are spending the night, please make a donation for two days of $20. If you are camping and spending both nights with us, please make a donation for 3 days of $25.

Wristbands will be issued at the gate and must be worn by everyone on site.
