Campground details

Bloomington West will be our home for the weekend. It is one of seven campgrounds located around Clinton Lake. Boat ramps and the swim beach is located nearby. This awesome facility is reserved just for those attending the Stringband Rendezvous. It is a private group campground that is scenic, secluded and secure.

Within Bloomington West there are twenty-five individual, spacious campsites. Each is equipped with picnic tables, BBQ grills, fire rings and parking pads with space for 2 or 3 vehicles. Even though there are no hook-ups for RVs and/or travel trailers, there is ample parking room for them. You might consider bringing some firewood for that late night jam.

Campsites are not reserved.  Please come early if you would like a specific site.

You are responsible for bringing your own food.  There is a small (very small) store in Clinton just outside of the campground where you can pick up essentials, and shopping on Iowa street in Lawrence is about 25 minutes away.

Modern bathhouse

Hot and cold running water and flush toilets make it hard to believe you’re camping. This bathhouse is utilized only by our group and not the “lake community”. Showers are located within the Men’s and Women’s restrooms. We’ve never run out of hot water for those morning showers.

One of the most recent improvements is the children’s playground. Fun, safe equipment for the kids is in close proximity of the bathhouse.
For the bigger kids, there are horseshoe pits and the sand volleyball court. And if you are so inclined, don’t hesitate to bring your bicycle.

Covered dining shelter

There is an open-air shelter with electrical outlets for you to use. (Please note, the Park asks that you don’t run extension cords outside the shelter).

Volunteers provide a sound system and organize bands on a first-come first served basis for performances on Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening.  Bring your chairs up and listen to some music.
